The beloved former Giants reliever joins the NBC Sports Bay Area team as a Giants analyst.
Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants have had many beloved former players that have gone from on the field to behind the cameras, and last night their ranks grew yet again.
Former reliever and class clown, Sergio Romo, joined NBC Sports Bay Area as an analyst for their pre and post game shows.
Romo was with the team for nine seasons, and will perhaps be most fondly remembered for being on the mound for the final out of the 2012 World Series. Romo, along with Javier Lopez, Santiago Casilla and Jeremy Affeldt (aka the Core Four) are due to be honored later this year with a Wall of Fame ceremony.
Romo sat down with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Alex Pavlovic on his Giants Talk podcast, which you can listen to here. They discuss the new role, a look back at Romo’s career, and the current team.
What time do the Giants play today?
The Giants wrap up their series against the New York Mets today at 12:45 p.m. PT.
